Out With the Old
The Jungman Neighborhood Library in west Houston will close June 2 for a renovation to rebuild the facility. The project is designed by Energy Architecture Inc., and contracted to Turner Construction. The Library is a well-used resource in the community, with approximately 145,295 visitors and 324,700 items checked out in fiscal year 2012. With this amount of visitors, it is the 10th most visited location in the HPL system.

In With the New
The new Jungman Neighborhood Library will include improvements to update the library services, providing a separate space for adult reading, a quiet room for adults, a children's reading room with space for toddlers and a gaming area. There is additional square footage for teens and a meeting/conference area. The parking lot and the landscaping will also be renovated.
